I am heading out the door for our Friday playgroup get-together, but I had to get this down. Our local (very small) newspaper just called and asked if they can do an interview with me for the education section in next weeks paper. Someone gave them my name as a local homeschooler.
I put it off, at least until this afternoon. I have no idea if I want to do this. We are a small community and we are doing something pretty radical, will anyone understand? Or is this a great opportunity to show off to the general public how wonderful life at home with your kids can be?
Of course my older son is so excited to tell the world we unschool! I don't want him to think we have to hide what we are doing, but I am not sure how closely scrutinized I am ready to be.
Thought, comments and suggestions really appreciated, especially before 3 pm when the newspaper is suppose to call back to do the half hour interview. Am I crazy to do this?
