In between the Rain

We played a little mini-golf. My older son went to mountain biking camp this week. Here is mountain bike central. Lots of boys, bikes and mud.
The end of the day, here come the boys, 25 of them ages 8 and 9.
Before they were able to leave, the bikes needed to be clean and lubed. Here, I am being shown just how much mud is on the bike.
Overall, it was a good but rainy week. I realized that I have some thinking to do about how to get some more daily interaction with other kids during the school year. My son really enjoyed seeing his friends every morning, and spending several hours with them (it was a half day camp).

I enjoyed the drop-off and pick-up. I haven't had that mom-to-mom morning/afternoon check-in for over a year. The entire camp brought up some areas that need to be addressed. We will have another half day camp in about 2 weeks, so we will have another opportunity to find out where we need to do some work.

Do you have a local homeschool group or some homeschool families in your area? If so, see what you can do to plan/coordinate activities. That's helped us satisfy some of our need for interaction. Well, that, and my kids hanging at the window, waiting for 3:30 to arrive so their friends are home from school!

Jennifer, I have that window! It is so very sad, but my little one did learn how to tell time waiting for that bus. And yes, we have 2 homeschool groups, and we meet up with each of them, but it is that daily, extended time that I am thinking about. It's more for the 9 year old, the younger one doesn't seem to need it yet. It is something I need to work on. And I want to make it easier for him to be in control of who gets to see, rather than me deciding. Tricky stuff. Thanks for the comments!
